Our Professional Crew

Our Cracker Jack Crew is eager to depart for the HA-HA.  This year's HA HA rally has a record 160+ boats participating.

We leave this morning (October 30th).  The predicted weather conditions look great for calm seas and excellent sailing.

We do not expect to have internet capability until we arrive in Cabo San Lucas (780 miles).  We should arrive in Cabo between November 9th and 11th.

BAJA HA HA SUCCESS

We completed the HA HA on November 10th when we anchored in Cabo San Lucas at 3:10 am.  Of the 160 boats participating, Georgia J was one of the 15 who sailed the entire way winning the coveted lime green t-shirt.  Some facts and figures regarding the trip:

Time under sail – 9,421 minutes (6.5 days)

Time engine was used (except during anchoring) -  0

Number of stops during trip- 2 (Turtle Bay and Bahia Santa Maria)

Average Velocity Made Good-  5.0 knots

Number of birthday parties celebrated by crew in route- 1 (Rob)

Fish caught in route- 5 (many big ones got away)

Number of dolphin visits- too numerous to count

Number of whale sightings- 2

Number of sea turtle sightings- 1

Significant mechanical problems in route-  Water maker stopped working.  Generator (which runs the water maker) stopped working.  Toilet seat broke.  Allyn fixed the water maker and generator, but was responsible for the broken toilet seat.

Sharon cleaned her first fish.

Many thanks to our excellent crew for a wonderful voyage.   Our crew has returned San Francisco and Georgia J leaves for Mazatlan tomorrow (1/14).
